Sovereign Property Investors Pty Ltd (ABN 52 674 531 134) (SPIG, we, us, our) respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information through spig.com.au and our tools, including the SPIG Property Planning System.
1. The personal information we collect
- Contact and enquiry information — such as your name, email address, phone number and any details you provide through forms or when you contact us.
- Account information — your login credentials and multi-factor authentication details for the SPIG Property Planning System.
- Financial information you choose to provide — where you use the Property Planning System, information you enter such as your income, savings, assets, liabilities and investment goals, which is used to generate your projections.
- Booking and payment information — details needed to process paid sessions. Payments are handled by our third-party payment provider; we do not store your full card details.
- Technical information — such as your IP address, device and browser type, and general usage information collected when you use the Site.
- Communications — records of your interactions and correspondence with us.
2. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you — for example when you complete a form, register an account, use the Property Planning System, make a booking, or correspond with us — and automatically as you interact with the Site.
3. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose your information
We use your personal information to: respond to your enquiries and provide information you request; create and manage your account; operate the Property Planning System and generate your projections; process bookings and payments; provide our services; send you marketing communications where you have consented or as otherwise permitted by law (you can opt out at any time); maintain, secure and improve the Site; and meet our legal obligations.
4. When we disclose personal information
We may disclose your personal information to: our personnel and trusted service providers who help us operate the Site and our business (such as hosting, payment processing, email and customer-management providers), who are required to protect your information; any party you have consented to us sharing it with; and where required or authorised by law.
Overseas disclosure: some of our service providers or personnel may be located in, or store information in, countries outside Australia (which may include the Philippines and other countries in which our providers operate). Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. The SPIG Property Planning System
Any financial information you enter into the Property Planning System is used to generate estimates and illustrations for your general information only. These outputs are not financial advice and are not a guarantee of any outcome (see our Disclaimer). Accounts are protected with multi-factor authentication, and we take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide.
6. How we keep your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls and multi-factor authentication on accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You also play an important role by keeping your login and MFA credentials confidential.
7. Direct marketing
We may send you marketing communications where permitted by law. Every marketing message includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us. We handle electronic marketing consistently with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
8. Cookies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to function and to help us understand general usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Site works.
9. Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at wealth@spig.com.au. We will respond as required by the APPs. There is generally no charge to make a request, although we may recover reasonable costs for providing access.
10. Complaints
If you have a concern or complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us at wealth@spig.com.au and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
